Based on the measurements of 7 kids, we will share tips on how to choose the right size and the features of the shoes!

1. What is Cienta?

Cienta is a brand that produces over 1 million pairs of shoes a year, making simple and stylish shoes that are gentle on children's feet. In SS (spring/summer), they mainly offer canvas sneakers, and in AW (autumn/winter), they mainly offer shoes and boots made of velour or suede.

They come in a wide variety of sizes and colors, and are popular for their vintage feel. The soles of all of the shoes have a sweet scent that children will love, which is rare in Japan and perfect for preventing odors.

2. About Cienta's size notation

Sizes available range from 21 (12.5 cm) to 34 (21 cm).

Please note that even the same Cientan shoes have different sizes depending on the model number ! Also, depending on the width and height of your child's feet, the size may or may not fit, so we recommend that you choose after considering the characteristics of each shoe.

3. About the types of Cienta

・One-strap shoes (Velcro shoes)

These are classic velcro and strap type sneakers.

The image below shows a design that has not been unevenly dyed, but we also have types that have been dyed after production (unevenly dyed) for a more vintage feel, as well as types made of velour material.

・Deck shoes

These are classic deck shoes. The upper part is made of rubber, so you can put them on and take them off just like slip-ons.

・No. 500, strap shoes

These are strap-type shoes made from AW velour fabric.

The straps vary in thickness, and the elegant design makes them perfect for formal occasions. (Note: These shoes are long and narrow , unlike other velour shoes.)

・No. 400, one-strap shoes

These are strap-type shoes made from AW velour fabric.

The strap has a foldover, so you can adjust the size of the belt to suit your preference. The simple design makes it suitable for a wide range of occasions, from everyday wear to formal occasions.

・Zip-up boots

These are suede side gore boots.

The shoes are a zip-up type with a zipper on the inside, making them easier to wear.

・No. 95, side gore short boots

Side gore boots with rubber on both sides of the opening.

Available in two types of material: leather and suede.

These short boots are as easy to walk in as sneakers.

These are suede velcro type sneakers.

It can be put on and taken off using two straps, so it is stable and puts less strain on your feet.

- Canvas sneakers (available in Velcro, T-strap and deck types) can be easily worn all year round, regardless of the season.

- AW (autumn/winter) velour shoes are recommended for both everyday and formal occasions.

-Short boots that are as casual to wear and easy to walk in as sneakers have also become increasingly popular in recent years.

・The 500 size is long and thin, so you need to be especially careful when choosing the size!

4. Tips for choosing the right size based on foot width and instep height

We asked seven children with different foot sizes, widths, and instep heights to act as monitor models and try on the shoes.

Below is a table summarizing the results.

*Centias in general have a slightly narrow shoe width.

It is clear that Cienta shoes are shoes that require careful selection of size for children with high insteps and wide feet!

When analyzed by type,

*For those with high insteps and wide feet, we recommend the T-strap. We recommend that you choose size 95 for the side gore boots or size 90 for the velcro sneakers, which are 0.5 to 1 cm larger than your child's actual foot size!

*If you have a standard instep and foot width, all shoe types will fit you relatively well. However, for size 500, we recommend choosing one size smaller than your actual size, and for designs other than size 500, we recommend choosing the exact size or one size larger.

*All shoe types are relatively easy to fit for people with low insteps and narrow feet. For size 500, we recommend one size smaller. For sizes other than 500, we recommend the actual size of your child's foot, and even if you do size up, it is best to go up to 0.5 cm.

5. Conclusion

Cienta is a very stylish shoe brand whose designs can be worn by both men and women, but because most of its products are sold online and there are only a limited number of stores that stock its products, it is so popular that some sizes and designs can sell out quickly.
